Kindness Rocks
Throughout art this year, students in each grade level (K-6) participated in collaborative artworks to spread kindness. These anonymous messages were inspired by #KindnessRocks as well as artist & designer Jayson Naylor.

Color Scientists
Kindergarteners took on color laboratory experiments and intense training to become official Color Scientists in order to prove their knowledge of color and their willingness to experiment. They had to pass a final color mixing test in order to earn their official Color Scientist badges and they showed each other great support during this rigorous study of color theory.
Color Monsters
Skin Tone Recipes
Kindergarteners experimented with basic printmaking techniques to express emotion through mark making & color choice.
Kindergarteners created their very first self portrait by creating a unique paint recipe that matches their unique skin tone.
Investigating Weaving
3rd & 4th graders learned basic weaving concepts and vocabulary through paper weaving. Artists then “leveled up” to weaving with fibers on a paper plate loom. When their paper plate looms were full, the master weavers moved on to experimented with alternative “looms”. For their final test, students transferred all that they knew to clay.
